John Doody
"Photography has been a passion for me for the past 35 years. In my early days as a photographer I was influenced strongly by the work and techniques of the famous landscape photographer Ansel Adams. As a professional physicist I was impressed by the Zone System that Adams developed to produce high quality photography prints. My background as a physicist also gives me a deep understanding the optics and mechanics of modern cameras and techniques
and processes involved in digital imaging"

Legacy of Light Exhibition by John Doody

  Legacy of Light Exhibition

As photographers we capture images on our travels, at special events and for club and photographic competitions. A good way to stretch our creativity and improve our photography skills is to tackle a photography project.

John Doody has done just that with his 'Legacy of Light' project he's been involved with
in the last few years.
A Legacy of Light is a photographic exhibition profiling five photographers from the same Qld family, spanning a 150 year period from 1863 to 2012.

This unique exhibition highlights the changing ways the medium of photography has been used to document our lives, our history, our good times and our sad times, the richness of the subject matter and range of historic periods takes the viewer on an extraordinary journey.

Be Inspired ... with Clive Waring-Flood
Managing Editor of Silvershotz Fine Art Magazine

All Members and Guests welcome!

  Silvershotz

Clive Waring commenced his photography career in Sydney in 1977. In 40 years of professional photography he has surpassed 70,000 studio sessions of children, families, models and
corporate portraits in Australia, the UK and Europe.

During the 90s Clive was a technical consultant for Polaroid in the areas of scientific, forensic and commercial photography. In 1998 he established Fotospeed Australia to deliver darkroom products to schools, clubs and professional photographers.

Since 2004 as the editor of Silvershotz magazine he has been responsible for sifting through several thousand folios, selecting emerging artists to feature in the magazine and writing articles. During this time he has presented over 50 lectures on fine art printing and more
recently has lectured on the 7 steps for creating a successful body of work.

Learn the inside secrets of what publishers/curators and galleries look for in photography submissions. In one hour you will learn the importance of developing your own style, creating powerful images, working on a themed body of work and how to present your work.

"During a clean out in the office last month we found some rare back editions from 2004 -
a select few are available for purchase at $5.00 each. On the evening if you become a Silvershotz Platinum member - one year's membership is $40.00 - you will also receive
the 7 steps to photography success program."
